The idea of the leaf design adornment is derived from Queen Puabi's jewelry from the Royal Tombs of Ur. This remarkable Mesopotamian collection is housed at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Queen Puabi's jewelry dates from the 3rd millennium B.C. (2600-2500 B.C.) and was discovered in the 1920s on a joint archaeological expedition of the University of Pennsylvania Museum and the British Museum.
